Artistic Review
The work plays with the idea of risk, money, chance, and desire. The cash in one hand and dice falling from the other establish an immediate visual equation: Stinky has something of value, but he is willing to put it in play for the possibility of getting more.

His exaggerated eyes are particularly effective here. They make him appear almost hypnotized by the game, while his stretched limbs and off-balance posture suggest that he is already being pulled into it. The composition captures the psychology of gambling without needing to depict a casino, table, or opponent—the entire “game” exists through Stinky, the money, and the dice.

Critique
The simplicity is what gives the piece its strength. The two tiny dice occupy very little physical space, yet they become the conceptual center of the drawing. Everything depends on them. Stinky’s distorted body curves around the composition, creating movement and directing the viewer from the money, through his expression, and finally toward the falling dice.

As with the larger Stinky series, the battered cardboard is not merely a surface. Its folds, dents, and imperfections reinforce ideas of value and disposability, while the elaborate gold frame deliberately contradicts the humbleness of the material.
