Welcome to Stinky’s Art Class. We have the best students in the world. Todays lesson is how to draw a French Bulldog.
Any artist’s journey with art begins with a struggle. Some artists have trouble starting out because of the fear of failure. But the secret to creating art is that you must take that first step blindly. If you don’t take the first step, you might get stuck even before starting.
Deep philosophical revelations about art aside, welcome to Stinky’s Art class. We teach students how to draw so they can foray further into their own skills as an artist. Today, I’m going to teach you how to draw a French bulldog.
Drawing complex figures like that of a French bulldog can seem intimidating, but as I said, you must get started to know where you stand. Once you know where you stand, the possibilities for improvement and innovation are endless.
Let’s begin.
The first thing you need to draw a French bulldog is to get a canvas you’re comfortable with. You can start with paper and pencil, but a big canvas would be easier to navigate.
Once you have your canvas, get a drawing instrument that is convenient to use for you.
You can use a marker, a pencil, or a pen as long as you’re comfortable with it.
Once you have your canvas and drawing instrument, draw dog ears. Remember that French bulldogs have big ears. The easy thing about drawing ears is that you can draw them freely. This is because they are big and you can use a free hand.
Once you’ve drawn the ears, it’s time to draw the eyes. For the eyes, you should draw two circles. Then, draw a big horizontal sphere right underneath the eyes. This is the nose.
Remember to keep the nose the same size as the collective space taken up by the eyes. Fill in the nose with your pen. Try to use the color black.
The next thing you need to do is place the pen point right between the bottom part of the nose and draw a downward-facing bracket like you would in a flowchart.
Make one more bracket connected to the previous one and fill it in with a black pen. The next step is to draw freckles and whiskers on either side of the nose, just like it’s shown in this video.
Now, you’re done with the face part. The last step is to draw four tiny dog legs. Remember to connect all four legs. And voila!
