How to Draw a Sloth
Welcome to Stinky's Art Class. We have the best students in the world. Todays lesson is how to draw a sloth.
Good morning and welcome to Stinky's Art Class! Today's lesson is how to draw a sloth.
I know it's been a while since we did a video and we can say the semester was over. We can say it's time to get drawing again, get back to the drawing class, and start learning some more lessons together. But, you know, I was really having a hard time during the semester break.
You know, I started listening to all the people out there saying stuff about, you know, not being a very good artist. And that my drawings were stupid. And we're dumb and, you know, all these negative things. I started listening to that, but at this point I don't care anymore because I know this has got some value for all the artists out there. You know that there's a Leonardo da Vinci out there.
There's, you know, someone that's just now learning to draw. Maybe they've been drawing for a while, but someone's out there really trying hard. And if I got some tips that can help them become the next, you know, Leonardo da Vinci, Van Gogh or one of these famous artists then I want to be able to help them along their path.
So I'm not going to be a sloth anymore. You know what a sloth is? A sloth is like, super slow. They hardly get anything done. And, that's kind of what I felt like during the semester break. But, you know, the semester break is over. It's time to get drawing again. And I got some epic stuff coming. I'm not going to listen to anybody telling me anything negative.
I'm just going to, you know, roll with the punches and keep making some art. So today's lesson class, I hope it's a good one for you. It's how to draw a sloth and how not to be a sloth. You just got to keep pushing forward. And don't let anything stand in your way. If you've got a goal and you want to achieve it.
So let's get started. A sloth. Okay. First thing you do when you draw a sloth, you got to draw a branch because they hang upside down. Not like a opossum, like a sloth. Okay, so we got some leaves right here in the end. It's a little branch right there. And the sloth, it's got hands, these little fingers, and these big nails.
They're strong. Okay, they got the sloth feet. You know, just warming up. You know, I'm getting back to the class. You know, sometimes we make mistakes, but you got to keep going. So I kind of did this line. I should have drawn the sloth's body first. Oh, I'll put the tree in last. So the slots are furry. They have good little eyes.
We're going to get them kind of, you know, kind of some different eyes. Right. Let's give them a sloppy mouth. With skills in here. They got some whiskers, don't they?
They got a furry belly. These legs. Well, give them a tail anyways. They're kind of furry. It was some fur, right. And then let's go ahead and finish this branch that they're hanging on.
There's the tree. You know texture. So this is texture. You know you can do three like this. And then you can come back and do three like this. That's texture. You know pattern texture. You want to give this facial expression some, you know, these eyes. Give them some facial expression skills and character.
You know, some ears. Now we know they got two legs. So let's go ahead and put this other leg around.
To transfer in there. Hey, not too bad. Now this looks like that. Arms right there. So let's do this arm. This sloth let's do this, like giving a peace sign. Right?
That'd be cool, right? He's giving this sloth peace sign. Giving us a peace sign. Okay folks, this is a little crazy. First drawing back. First class of the semester, but I think we can all appreciate it. And I hope everybody's going to enjoy the new class. I got a lot of epic stuff coming and let's have a good semester of art classes.
Thanks for attending Stinky's Art Class and have a great day.
